Tupelo MS and the surrounding area has so much history from the Civil War era to Elvis Presley’s existence.
The atmosphere here is very laid back and family oriented. The people are of many cultures yet they all come together to support their community.
Living here or visiting you will find that the hospitality, genuine care and helpfulness of the local people will bring you back again and again.
The old hint of Blue’s music surrounded with southern cooking and our ways of life are humble, alluring and a welcomed change to the everyday city life.

I’m sure you’ve heard it Elvis: A Canadian Tribute, which features Red Robinson, was an album I plyead a lot as a kid. You know what, I just might have to pull that one out right now. I haven’t plyead it in years. He definitely had that dramatic, distinctive DJ voice. I really liked they way it used interview snippets to introduce some of the songs. In a way, that concept was ahead of its time.

On the Kings birthday, I too try and watch at least Aloha and On Tour, as well as what mevois they may play to celebrate. Have also been watching each year Home shopping networks tribute to Elvis. Being as I was born Jan. 5th I always felt even closer to Elvis. But on a sad note, This is the day my dear mother passed away 2005, we where going to watch Elvis mevois at the hospital. How ironic. But I will celebrate her and Elvis on his special day as always! So to all Elvis fans, wear your Elvis garb, play his songs, watch his concerts, and celebrate The King and his legacy on this special day!! TCB forever!!

Hey Mike, can you imagine a 5 CD set, the 1972 equivalent of “Young Man With The Big Beat,” containing the 3 CDs I mentioned above, plus the two Garden shows to round out the other 2 CDs? Call it “A Prince From Another Planet”. Then, the Garden shows could be a Legacy Edition as a separate release as well (much like the Elvis Presley Legacy Edition is to the 1956 boxed set). Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment, Mike. The Mystery Train is nothing without people to read it.

I agree! Just simply because Elvis was born there is reason enough. Period.

WOW!!! Can’t believe my conemmts were the basis for your new article! I’m honored (-:I would certainly hope that ELVIS ON TOUR would receive some type of attention from the main label. But, considering 2012 is also the 40th anniversary of the MADISON SQUARE GARDEN performances, I have a hunch that we’ll be seeing a Legacy Edition release from the main label of the original MSG show along with the AFTERNOON IN THE GARDEN album as well. If they do follow through on my hunch, I highly doubt the main label will release concerts recorded during the filming of EOT because of the high amount of repeated material between EOT and MSG. Therefore, I am (again) guessing that if EOT is to get some sort of a release in 2012, it will be through the FTD label. If that is the case, then the ideas are wide open concerts like you outlined in your article, or combinations of concerts and rehearsal material. Any of it will, of course, be more than welcomed by Elvis fans. What would, of course, blow the socks off of Elvis fans would be to get some unreleased video footage from the filming of EOT but like you said, I highly doubt we’ll see any of that at least officially!!THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN for using my conemmts for your new article! I really appreciate it my friend!!TCB!Mike

Yes, definitely see you in Tupelo! We’ll have to have an Old Elvis weitrrs convention and we can tell all the kids there how tough it used to be for us weitrrs back in the day. And we had to type out our thoughts, using keyboards. The horror! If my math is correct, only 2,904 posts to go but then, I’m a writer, not a mathematician!
